Hi there, I'm

Carlos Melendez

A product designer with 8+ years turning ambiguous problems into scalable systems. I work from framework to finished product, not just screen to screen and my focus is enterprise SaaS: complex workflows, high-stakes decisions, and the kind of products where getting the underlying system right matters more than any single interaction.

About

I've been designing digital products since 2017, though the habit started earlier than that, before that I worked as an industrial designer working on physical products, and I never fully let go of that instinct. To me, a product is never just the screen someone sees; it's the whole system behind it, and the best solutions come from understanding that system end to end.

These days I focus on B2B platforms with real complexity underneath, the kind where the hard part is the workflow, not the interface sitting on top of it.

Outside of my day job

I mentor designers through ADPList and judge or coach at hackathons, I've learned that sharing what I know helps people grow faster than theory alone, and I usually walk away having learned something too.

I'm a curious person by nature: always picking up new tools, new ways of thinking about a problem, new corners of design and technology that have nothing to do with UX at all.

When I'm not designing

You'll usually find me at the climbing gym bouldering, walking my dog, or in the kitchen, cooking Mexican food and inevitably tweaking the recipe along the way.
